Small people BIG impressions

Some people dream of success… while others wake up and work hard at it.
Successful people are ones who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks that others throw at them.
The poor embattled Archbishop could have done with some leadership and communication skills training, as should all people in high office whether in the Church, politics, public or private sector. I have to say “most in the private sector these days realise this“.
Communication – the first rule – say what you mean, mean what you say, no ambiguity.
Learn to listen to your customers. You cannot be all things to all people all of the time.
If your people feel threatened or are afraid defend them with all your power, might and soul. In the Archbishop’s case 70-80% of his customers (flock) are fearful of the competition.
People will only follow a strong leader.
Learn from history, appeasement has never achieved anything worthwhile or long lasting.
Communicate in a language that your followers, and I mean the 95%, will understand and buy into.
An effective leader is a master sales professional; accept it, be it, or if not take another role.
Do not believe just what your good people (Synod) tell you. Listen to the market place. Know your customers and who your potential customers are.
Motivating your staff can be a challenge but showing them how much they mean to you priceless.
The greatest joy in life is seeing yourself for the first time, as you really are, and liking it.
You’ll always miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.
No person will fail if they do their best.
Do today what others won’t, so tomorrow you can do what others can’t.
A real leader faces the music, even when they don’t like the tune.
