The Archbishop and Sharia Law

The poor embattled Archbishop could have done with some leadership and communication skills training, as should all people in high office whether in the Church, politics, public or private sector. I have to say “most in the private sector these days realise this“.

1. Communication – the first rulesay what you mean, mean what you say, no ambiguity.

2. Learn to listen to your customers. You cannot be all things to all people all of the time.

3. If your people feel threatened or are afraid defend them with all your power, might and soul. In the Archbishop’s case 70-80% of his customers (flock) are fearful of the competition.

4. People will only follow a strong leader.

5. Learn from history, appeasement has never achieved anything worthwhile or long lasting.

6. Communicate in a language that your followers, and I mean the 95%, will understand and buy into.

7. An effective leader is a master sales professional; accept it, be it, or if not take another role.

8. Do not believe just what your good people (Synod) tell you. Listen to the market place. Know your customers and who your potential customers are.
