The Gestapo are alive and well!

Isn’t it really amazing how we have developed a culture in Britain whereby we go from the sublime to the extremely ridiculous. One of my own personal Room 101’s would be:

The health and safety executive - Britain’s new Gestapo.

We all know that a few years ago there was scant attention paid to health and safety in the workplace, a few employers really needed to have their bums kicked for disgraceful disregard for their employees well-being. On the other hand, as far as the food supply chain goes, that should be and always will be controlled by customer demand. If we want to drink real and proper milk, non-homogenized and pasteurised, we should be allowed to do so.

We do not need the big fat nanny of rather unintelligent politicians to tell us what is good for us.

The British economy is now suffering from the “Gestapo” as it is becoming virtually impossible to do anything without the brown coats stamping their approval. Risk assessment - what a farce! It is our own fault because we elect these morons who pass endless “school rules” that reduces our quality of life and makes our country less competitive with the rest of the world who take no notice. Italy apparently, does not have health and safety officials. The only benefit is that perhaps it makes the government’s unemployment statistics look so much better as health and safety is a good dustbin for the unemployable.

When will we all get the balance right and not lurch from one extreme to another - the sublime to the ridiculous.
