Day 3 - Define your target
Define your chosen goal in complete detail. At this stage of goal setting, it is important for your most valuable asset (the brain) to be focused and to by crystal clear as to what the goal is. Your goal might be that you’d like to lose weight, but losing weight is not a goal. Be specific - how much weight exactly do you want to lose? The goal may be: ‘I would like to be fitter.’ Exactly what does fitness mean for that individual? It may mean being able to do 20 press-ups and run two miles.
Your target, therefore, must be totally quantifiable and measurable. Another goal might be: ‘I would like to be promoted.’ Promoted to what? What position, what title, what responsibility, etc? For someboady else, it may be that they would like a new car. Is the car to be new or second hand? Which make and model, what colour and which extras? Let me remind you of the saying ‘What the mind of man can accurately conceive and believe, it is forced to achieve.’
