Energy Trader - £45k - £80kpa + 10% Bonus – Dublin

Our client manages non-regulated power generation assets, including investments in Northern Ireland, Spain, UK and Dublin.

Job Title – Energy Trader
Salary - £45k - £80kpa

Location – Dublin

Following the establishment of the UK Front Office, the traders will conduct the day to day trading requirements of the UK trading operation in line with our client’s trading strategy. This will include execution of asset optimisation strategies, fuel procurement policies and power hedging activities associated with their contracted generation assets.

Key Responsibilities:
• Trading Power, Gas forwards trading from day ahead to 3 years forward
• Asset hedging and optimisation (once acquired)
• Technical and market analysis
• Trading operations

Person Specification:
• 2 to 4 years experience including some exposure to the UK Power and Gas markets, with experience of other commodity markets also desirable.
• Proven experience in a trading operational role and familiarity with GB trade execution (Gemini, Elexon, etc.) will be a marked advantage.
• Understanding of risk managed environments is essential. You must also be familiar with execution over standard traded products and contract types used in the UK markets.
