Our client is rapidly expanding its Offshore Projects team to meet the demands of building its next large offshore wind farm and is seeking to fill a number of positions for the construction phase.
The project will be built using a multi-contract strategy and will demand a high level of involvement in the detailed management of a wide range of contract works and the interfaces between them.
We are currently building our second offshore wind farm, and this will provide opportunities for new team members to gain hands-on experience of this exciting new technology, and also of the upcoming project, which will feature between 150 and 250 wind turbines with a maximum project capacity of 750 MW.
Offshore wind farm projects are technically challenging in many areas and require significant engineering inputs at all stages: development, procurement, construction and commissioning. The role of the Project Engineer is to provide support and technical advice to the Project and Construction Managers according to the individual’s core skill. Based in Swindon, you will be responsible for a wide range of activities.
Your tasks:
As part of a team, management of contracts in the range £100m- £800m for the supply/installation of electrical and control systems, turbines and foundations
Development of technical specifications, assessment of tenders and of contractor competence
Tender technical assessments
Design reviews
Assessment and recording of Engineering Risks into the project Risk Register
Reviewing the impact of scope changes and managing the change control process.
Your Profile:
Specific experience in dynamic structural analysis, steel fabrication, reinforced concrete construction, piling, seabed preparation and offshore heavy lifting for the marine civil engineering or oil and gas sectors would be advantageous
Your employment history may include working for oil and gas or power companies, or general engineering consultancies
Knowledge of the principles of project management and good interpersonal skills
A degree in civil or structural engineering
A minimum of 3 to 6 years experience of working on large construction projects in multi-disciplinary teams
Experience in the design, construction and installation of large industrial structures
Should you feel that you have the relevant skills and experience required, please forward your CV and cover letter to larry@denny.co.uk
Please note that our client can only consider candidates who are authorised to work in the UK.
