A Bestselling Classic, 18 Mar 2010 Posted by Brian McCormack

This was the first sales book I ever bought and the one I keep going back to again and again. Richard`s insights into the sales process are given in a clear easy to understand style and chapters 3 and 7 - The Vital Ingredient & The Rules of Professional Selling - were the standout ones for me. A classic that should be part of every serious salesperson`s library.

One of The Best Books you will ever read on Selling......Buy It, before your competition does!, 1 Jan 2010.

This was the very first book from the Richard Denny collection that I bought and it's the one I come back to time and time again. Regardless if you are completely new to sales or if you like me are experienArial, Helvetica, sans-serif;ced this is a must read. Best thing to do is read from cover to cover 1st then read it again this time taking a pencil and highlighting the bits that you think that can help you along with any parts you don't understand. I have been in sales for almost 20 years and there very few books out there that can help you as this one does.

Valuable, testimonial by Steve Mackay PhD, Director IDC Technologies

Your book ‘Selling to Win’ must be one of the most valuable possessions I have, it has driven our Business throughout the world and we have trained 400,000 engineering professionals.

A great sales book that breaks down the basics, Oct 9, 2009. Posted by Robert F. West "Rob West"

I had to purchase this book for a business class I was taking in college and found the book to be a great book for the serious sales person. It says that it is "The best book ever written on selling" but I can't say that is so. First of all I have not read every book on selling and secondly someone will most certainly write another great book on selling in the future.

This book is a great handbook for someone who needs a refresher every year or so and it definitely made a good text book for the business class I took.

If you are looking for the "best" book out there on selling I would say that this one is not the best but if you want a good book that is very positive and encouraging along with a great overview of what to do and not do then I would say give it a go. For the price you can get it at you would do well with the information.

As I said in my title BUY THIS BOOK NOW..........BEFORE YOUR COMPETITION DOES

A good book with lots of sensible advice, 20 April 2009. Posted by William Cohen

I have been reading some books on selling recently. This was a pleasant book, written in a down-to-earth style which had lots of good tips. It did a feel a little dated at times, and I object to Mr Denny's claim to be the most inspirational... and the best...it's very 1980s (I checked out his website, too). To say this is "The best book ever written on selling." is a sentiment I would challenge. Robert Cialdini's book, Influence is much better - though it is not a manual but an expose. I also enjoyed Tom Hopkins', How to Master the Art of Selling (though that, too is dated). I applaud the attitude and style of this book, and Denny's good at mixing in personal stories, but the anecdote about Thomas Edison inventing lightbulb has become so commonplace, that the last page made me groan. Time for the publisher to commission the best book on selling in the 21st Century!

so simple and yet so true to any person in sales. having been in selling for years, i can say these are basic principles that will last a long long time

common sense plus insight, 7 Feb 2009. Posted by Bob Black

I bought this at a motor service station to read on a journey. I thought that it was so good that I bought it for the sales team that I manage who have put it to good effect. The book is easy to read, full of common sense and practical pointers. Highly recommended.

Great No Nonesense Book, 23 Jan 2009 Posted by L. Dowd

A very well-written no-nonsense book. I found it very helpful and concise. Refreshingly non PC too.

The best book ever written on selling, 6 Jan 2009. Posted by Niklas Sundberg

This is on of the bst books that I have read regarding "selling." In my profession as a computer consultant I don't work much with sales but I was interesting in finding out what makes a professional sales person.

This book is very thorough and it covers a lot of important aspects of the process when making a sale. It is no wonder that the book has been renowened as: "The best book ever written on selling." I strongly recommend anyone who works with sales to pick up a copy of this book.

The best and most common sense sales book, 17 Mar 2008 Posted by Sally Wilton

I have been in sales for many years and was looking for a book to reiterate and back up my own sales methods with a new business of a beauty salon. This book is the most sensible and down to earth one of this type.

Not only does it go over the tried and trusted methods but there are some great new ideas I had not thought of. For example checking out newspapers and magazines for accolades and then writing in to congratulate the person, thanking people for their business and a brilliant idea of advertising a second hand sewing machine for sale with a box number and then calling those people to sell them a new one.

Above all this book teaches self reliance regarding sales and makes sure that the reader understands that excuses are not acceptable. Politeness, friendliness and of course enthusiasm are paramount and this book should be recommended reading for anyone with a business.

As is says in the book 'Show me a successful person and I will show you a great salesperson'

Fantastic book, get one for all your employees now and dont lose out in business.

Selling to Win, 28 Dec 2007 Posted by Mr. War Mallon

For anyone who is in the field of selling this book is THE one to read. It has helped me to get a fantastic job with a global agricultural machinery manufacturing company and if I hadn't read this book I certainly would have less chance of getting the position. It is inspiring, helpful, idea generating and a superbly put together book. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is comtemplating a career in selling, and also those who are currently selling and think that they are the best in their field, the only time they will be ahead of the competition is when they have read this book!

Management Today, November 2005

You should buy this book, 3 Dec 2004 Posted by Aubrey_kingsbury

This is one of the few books on sales techniques that I have been motivated to re-read regularly and would whole heartedly recommend. It's well written with just the right mix of motivational quotations and down to earth, practical, 'real world' advice. Well worth the investment.

The best - an absolute classic, 13 Feb 2001 Posted by A Customer

Having read scores of books on sales, from trendy to pompous, this is the only book I would ever recommend. It delivers the basic principles of professional selling in a form, both concise and easy to understand. These priciples are applicable to any form of professional selling. Despite the author being refreshingly honest, never once showing how to dupe or mislead clients into buying products or services they neither need or can afford, this book really does teach you to sell. The whole essence is about building long term client relationships through professional selling. I insist on every new sales person in my organisation reading a copy.
