If you think education is expensive, what does ignorance cost you?

denny-barstool

Richard he urged the industry to think of ways they could increase the value of each transaction. “There are only four ways of growing a business,” he said, “and one of the most effective is to get your customers to spend more each time they visit you”. As one of the foremost authorities on business growth, Richard started his working life in agriculture and farmed in Sussex. He led the Farmers Rebellion in 1965 - and as recently as last December, the Farmer’s Guardian said, “It is characters like Richard Denny that have made the farming industry the persistently colourful profession that it is.” Practical training seminars for key areas of the dealership are to be held at the Royal Pavilion, the National Agricultural Centre, Stoneleigh in November. These will take the form of seminars aimed at Sales Managers and Parts & Service Managers. They will be packed with practical advice - and so confident is Richard Denny of their value he is offering a Money Back offer to delegates who feel that the cost has not been matched several times over by extra business gained as a result of the advice given.

World Class Skills 2009

richard-denny-world-class-skills-2009 The tougher economic climate adds an increasing sense of urgency in terms of supplying the right skills to unemployed people to gain and maintain their employment. For companies, the challenge is to continue to invest in up-skilling in order to remain competitive and prepared for the upturn - as research shows that companies that do not train are 2.5 times more likely to fail than those that do.

richard-denny-3-world-class-skills-2009"World Class Skills 2009: Delivering new opportunities for employment’ provided a detailed overview of the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead with respect to embedding this new legislation and reform – and delivering access to world class skills for employment for all.

Whilst most people I talk to seem to be in the depts of depression and all seem to becoming merchants of doom and despondency, our story seems to be bucking the trend!! The recession has been great for us at Eze-talk, we are taking on 100 new business customers and over 500 residential customers per WEEK, as we are able to save businesses around 50% on their line rental plus super low call rates. With residential customers we offer low cost packages and to all customers 8mb to 24mb Broadband from just £6.99 per month. So when discussing the current UK bleak situation, I also feel guilty that we are certainly benefiting from the present gloom.

Dear Richard This week we can report that there is an ever growing number of organisations as well as individuals looking to either Franchise their business or own a Franchise. We have just participated in The Franchise Show and had over 50 companies talk very seriously to us about alternative marketing strategies, and Franchise Development is very high on their list. Simultaneously we were inundated with people looking to own and operate a Franchise rather than moan and grown about the fact that they have just been or will soon be made redundant.

There is always one sector that does very well in times like these and Franchising is likely to become the safest route for both the new Franchisor as well as new Franchise Owners to succeed. Kindest regards

Business Opportunities and Ideas
published a review on:

Winning New Business: Essential Selling Skills For Non-Sales People is a very easy to read guide to selling aimed at non-sales people like you and me. winning-business

Lets face it unless you’re a professional salesperson selling is not something that many of us enjoy. We’d rather be thought of as solicitors, web designers, business consultants and so on, who sell when we have to rather than salespeople who do law, web development or consult after we’ve sold. Richard Denny show us how to sell like the later without feeling like we’ve compromised our integrity.

There’s all the usual tips you’d expect in a sales book:

  • Cold calling,
  • How to make an appointment,
  • How to meet the decision maker,
  • Delivering a presentation,
  • Overcoming objections.

There’s also some great tips on managing your time so that time spent selling productive. All of which are presented in a simple manner. His practical approach to selling with no smoke and mirrors or faddy closing techniques is quite refreshing.

Denny himself is a successful businessman whose business offers training on selling, leadership, management, customer care and business growth. On top of that he’s a motivational speaker and author of several other books on the topics of motivation and sales.

It’s a great book on sales, and ideal if you’re in sales, but don’t regard yourself as a salesperson.

Successful outcome to The Selling Show

Richard Denny’s breakfast seminar on the first day of The Selling Show was definitely the success story of the event. He attracted the highest number of attendees and as always gave a highly motivational and inspirational session. At the end of his talk Richard read out the following quote which many people have asked us to post on the website:-

‘Value’ Not Price

‘It is unwise to pay too much, but it is worse to pay too little.

When you pay too much, you lose a little money ….. that is all.

When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do.

The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot …. It cannot be done.

If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run.

And if you do that, you will have enough to pay for something better!”

HELP

We need your help. Richard Denny has a new book due out in October and it needs a title.

The book is primarily for people who have to secure new customers but their key function is not selling. It targets all business people – solicitors, accountants, architects, surveyors and all business owners and of course it will be great for the salesperson as well.

Here are some suggested titles and subtitles to choose from:

  1. Winning New Business - Securing new clients, retaining customers & boosting sales

  2. Winning New Business - For those who ‘don’t do’ selling

  3. Winning New Business - The easy way

  4. The Super Business Winner - Secure new clients – retaining customers & boosting sales

  5. Win – Win Business - How to secure new business, retain customers & boost sales

Post a comment on our blog to which one you feel is best and indicate by number which title you would choose off the bookshelf. Or, if you don’t like any of the titles, how about a suggestion?
